A St. Mary’s Envirothon team has won the Grey Bruce Regional Envirothon Competition held at the Sydenham Sportsmen’s Clubhouse outside Rockford and will now represent the region at the provincial Envirothon competition held at Sir Sandford Fleming College May 28-31, 2017 sponsored by Forests Ontario.
Sponsors for the Grey Bruce Regional were Bruce Power, Bruce Grey Woodlands Association, Stewardship Grey Bruce, Sydenham Sportsmen’s Association and was organized and coordinated by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry Owen Sound. Twenty one volunteers from environmental organizations across Grey and Bruce ran the four field stations – wildlife, aquatics, forestry and soils.
The winning Ontario Envirothon team will then represent the province at the 2017 International Envirothon in Baltimore, Maryland in July.
