We will walk the woodland paths at the new Benallen Nature Preserve in the community of Benallen, just north of Owen Sound. The roughly 5 km walk will be leisurely and on fairly easy terrain including a portion of the Rail Trail.

Directions: From Owen Sound head north to Benallen. Meet at the South Bruce Peninsula ATV parking lot (on Gordon Sutherland Parkway) north of the bend on Grey Road 17.

Duration/Length: ~2-3 hrs / ~5 km

Pace / Difficulty: leisurely paced walk along woodland paths within the Benallen Nature Preserve. Portions of the walk will be on the rail trail.

What to wear/bring: Wear hiking boots, appropriate clothing, water, snacks. Hiking poles can be helpful. Also bring your curiosity and questions.
