Saugeen River Paddle and Invasive Species Identification

Join Chris Sanderson and other BGWA members to paddle down the Saugeen River and learn about invasive species identification and to map their locations.

When: Sunday August 23 from 9 AM to 12-1 PM

Where: Entry point – Maple Hill Dam (Saugeen River Access #4) to Power Dam – Carrick-Brant East Road (south of Walkerton near the Lighthouse Motel)

Duration/Length: ~3-4 hrs

What are we going to see: Traveling along the Saugeen River to identify, map, and inventory invasive plant species such as Giant Hogweed, Wild Parsnip, and Phragmites.

What to wear/bring: If you have a canoe and/or kayak available please let Chris know. Bring appropriate footwear, sun protection, snack, and water.

Cost: Free

Maximum Number of People: 10

RSVP by Friday August 14th.

Please note parking is quite limited at the entry point (Maple Hill Dam). Where possible please carpool with others. Lloyd will try to coordinate carpooling.
