Wood really is the window to the future?

The old saying goes ‘those who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones’, but now research out of the USDA Forest Service may be finding away around this. The researchers are creating transparent wood material that could replace glass windows. Read more about this new technology here.

    Interesting. Not a “plank” at 1 mm. but maybe veneer with no knots or any other imperfections that would change density. The epoxy will be a major part of the cost and weight, however. Would be useful as skylights if not as transparent as glass.
