• maple unlogged for 35+ years
• variety of both heavy clay and gravelly soils
• recent (~5yrs) plantings of Oak and Shagbark Hickory to increase diversity and balance expected effect of EAB
• examples of damage from pasture used of land still existent 25+ years later
• examples of beech fungus disease
