At this year’s AGM, members were treated to an introduction to Indigenous ways & wisdom presented by Glenn Trivett of the M’Wikwedong Native Cultural Arts Center. If that lit a flame of interest you may enjoy “An Evening of Indigenous Stories & Songs” coming this Thursday SEP 13th at Heartwood Hall in Owen Sound. Just $20/person provides you with a fascinating evening of entertainment while at the same time raising funds for the planned Reconciliation Garden at Kelso Beach in Owen Sound – a meaningful symbol of the area’s rich Indigenous heritage and the need for contemporary reconciliatory justice – a reality. A fabulous garden design has been created, the site dedicated, and now funds must be raised to begin construction. (This is a public event, not affiliated with BGWA; we are posting this notice in follow-up to our AGM.) Click here for details and tickets.
