In 4 weeks it’s our annual Members’ BBQ, once again at the Grey-Sauble Arboretum pavilion off Inglis Falls Road, and it is shaping up to be an especially great event. We are lining up tour of the historic Inglis Falls Water Filtration Plant. Built between 1910 and 1912, it supplied the city of Owen Sound with clean water from 1912 to 1969 using a unique gravity-fed system. The tour will discuss construction and maintenance of the Filtration Plant as well as some interesting fun facts. Additionally there will be guided tours of the Arboretum and/or the Bruce trail along the Niagara Escarpment. As always the event will run from 10 am till 2 pm with lunch being served around noon. Mark it on your calendar and watch for registration to open in a week.
Thanks for this heads-up Neil, for once we are conflicted (due to the wedding of a long term friend in Toronto) unfortunately.
I’ll ship over some of this years’ crop of acorns to share with members and friends on that occasion as usual.
Thank you kindly Roger & Sue!
