After a few logistical delays, BGWA Tree-o-Caching is underway! This activity will take people to 5 unique and interesting trees around Grey and Bruce counties. At each one, find the hidden geocache then register your find online. As a bonus, we have set up a special contest exclusively for BGWA members.
If you’re already familiar with Gecocaching you can go directly to the first Tree-O-Cache listing to download the coordinates, then get out there, make the find, and see a distinctive tree while you’re at it!
If you’ve never heard of geocaching, all you need is a GPS-enabled device to take part in one of the world’s most popular outdoor real-time treasure hunting games… lots of fun for adults and children alike, and a great way to motivate kids to get outdoors. Click here for Geocaching Intro
We will continue rolling out the remaining 5 geocaches more-or-less weekly through the month of July. Geocaching is open to anyone, but BGWA members who find all 5 caches will be entered into a draw for great prize. What that prize is will be revealed when the final cache listing goes live in late July (hint: it can be useful in woodlands, fits in most pockets, and valued close to $100), but you don’t need to wait until then to start logging your Tree-o-Cache finds! Tree-O-Cache #1 awaits you right now.
